Nokia and NTT Powered Thailand’s Digital Transformation through 5G Dedicated Wireless

Nokia has announced that they have reached a partnership with NTT Limited to provide private wireless network solutions to over 3.2 million enterprises in Thailand, accelerating digital transformation and driving significant improvements in productivity, operational efficiency, and worker safety. The deployment of Nokia 5G private wireless solutions in multiple business parks in Thailand will completely transform key business applications and use cases in industries crucial to the Thai economy, including manufacturing, mining, healthcare, and education.

Dedicated wireless networks are designed to connect devices in remote or challenging industrial environments – areas with poor Wi Fi service. They provide reliable high bandwidth wireless connectivity and low latency for Industry 4.0 applications, as well as strong security, perfect 24/7 availability, and performance for mission critical applications. The partnership aims to create a flexible environment for businesses and industries across Thailand, enabling them to fully utilize industrial LOT, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI).
This partnership covers a range of Nokia’s most advanced network solutions, including Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC), as well as the network automation and industrial digital edge platform: MX Industrial Edge (MXIE). By combining the technology and resources of NTT and Nokia, Thai companies spanning multiple industries will be able to access a set of on-demand digital technologies, enabling use cases such as digital twinns to monitor networks and manage devices, video analysis and machine vision with real-time video and IoT streams, as well as pre integrated industrial device and application catalogs.
Sutas Kongdumrongkiat, CEO of NTT Limited, said, “We are very pleased to expand our partnership with Nokia and deploy private wireless networks in multiple enterprise parks in Thailand. This joint initiative will provide the Thai industry with the most advanced 5G technology and applications, enabling automation, robotics, and digital transformation solutions, thereby improving productivity and efficiency, and ensuring the safety of workers.”
Ajay Sharma, head of Nokia Thailand and Cambodia, said, “We are pleased to collaborate with NTT to deploy our leading 5G dedicated wireless network solution in Thailand. Digital transformation is increasingly seen by the industry as a means to achieve business growth and sustainable development goals. The agreement covers Nokia wireless, software, and infrastructure, aiming to accelerate the implementation and adoption of Industry 4.0 applications and use cases by Thai enterprises
We are proud to support the Thai government’s digital transformation agenda. Nokia plans to extend this initiative to other markets to help drive economic growth in the Asia Pacific and Japan regions, “said Raghav Sahgal, President of Nokia Cloud and Network Services, in commenting on this collaboration.
Nokia has deployed mission critical networks to over 2600 leading corporate clients in transportation, energy, large enterprises, manufacturing, network scale, and public sector sectors worldwide.
