Ericsson and Orange Egypt Collaborate to Drive Digital Transformation

Ericsson has been selected as a strategic partner by Orange Egypt to accelerate its digital transformation and build a resilient architecture within its network. This collaboration aims to provide consumers with an excellent service experience and simplify the partner ecosystem.
The two companies have signed a multi-year agreement, which includes deploying market leading Ericsson directory managers and order management products as part of Ericsson’s business and operations support system (core business) product portfolio, consistent with the Open Digital Architecture (ODA) TM Forum’s Open Digital Architecture standards. These will serve as the cornerstone technologies for cloud native digital architecture strategy.

By digitizing and personalizing the subscription process, new features can bring greater flexibility to Orange Egypt’s customers. In addition to enhancing the user service experience, the new technology will also provide Orange Egypt with additional data and insights into customer preferences, which will help in formulating competitive pricing decisions.
As part of the collaboration, Ericsson will also modernize and upgrade Orange Egypt’s existing Ericsson charging solution to unleash the full potential of new charging features according to its monetization goals. By tightly integrating the complete solution with Ericsson billing and building it on directory driven orchestration, Orange Egypt has taken key steps to simplify the business configuration process in the transformation. The company will also expand its existing Ericsson mediation solutions to meet expansion needs, enabling Orange Egypt to achieve its customer and operational experience goals. To further adapt to this transformation, directory management and order management will be implemented using Ericsson Cloud Container Distribution as a cloud native solution.
Dr. Ayman Amiri, Chief Technology Officer of Orange Egypt, stated, “Orange Egypt is committed to playing a key role in the country’s digital transformation in line with the Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS) to support Egypt’s 2030 vision. The extension of our long-term partnership with Ericsson will accelerate our efforts to establish advanced digital infrastructure throughout the network. This is a new milestone in our joint efforts to shape the connected world.”

“Digital service experience, directory driven orchestration, and cloud native technology are crucial for communication service providers (CSPs) to successfully address the complex challenges of the 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) era,” said H å kan Cervell, Vice President of Ericsson’s Middle East and Africa region and Business Head for Saudi Arabia and Egypt. “At Ericsson, we are committed to leveraging our continuously evolving technology to support local CSPs, such as Orange Egypt, to build the future network.”
