Dell Tech and Ericsson Achieve Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Telecom Network Cloud Transformation

CSPs are seeking network cloud and operational transformation to achieve higher economy and flexibility while maintaining network reliability. The latest research report by MeriTalk, sponsored by Dell Technologies, shows that 90% of cloud computing service providers state that network transformation is crucial for the survival of their organizations. However, 96% of CSPs stated that due to limited time and budget, as well as various factors such as reliability and security, their vision for network transformation lags behind, ultimately hindering them from providing modern networks to customers.
The collaboration between Dell and Ericsson aims to address these issues by collaborating with CSPs, utilizing Dell and Ericsson’s integrated solutions and support to develop a simple and reliable network cloud transformation strategy based on open LANs.

Dennis Hoffman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Telecommunications Systems at Dell Technologies, said, “Communication service providers have a critical window of opportunity to lay the foundation for network cloud transformation and drive business growth. Our collaboration with Ericsson, combined with decades of digital transformation expertise, will provide network operators with the complete plan and technology needed to accelerate network and operational transformation, thereby positively impacting their business trajectory.”
Fredrik Jejdling, Executive Vice President and Head of Business Regional Networks at Ericsson, said, “The close collaboration with Dell Technologies will help further develop cloud native programmable networks, bringing new ideas and practices to the telecommunications market. Building on years of collaboration, this strategic partnership will strengthen our efforts in cloud computing as we are preparing to launch commercial solutions based on Open RAN. Cloud native networks will be continuously deployed to achieve frequent updates and the launch of new features. It will simplify the adoption of cloud RAN technology and prepare new markets for the product portfolios of both companies.”
