Ericsson Completes 6G Sensing Integration and Network Infrastructure Testing
In 2024, under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the IMT-2030 (6G) Promotion Group organized 6G technology testing for this year. And Ericsson has completed integrated 6G sensing and network infrastructure testing. Through testing, Ericsson has demonstrated the continuous exploration and practice in the key technology field of 6G.
The integrated testing of 6G sensing includes trajectory tracking of dual station A transmitting and B receiving sensing in interference free scenarios and field networking testing. This actively researches and verifies the key technologies of multi station sensing mode for sensing. In the 6G network infrastructure testing, Ericsson successfully completed AI function testing. It includes AI model training and AI inference functions. It realizes the prediction of network traffic for various subnets in the future based on AI. Also, this selects suitable subnets for new access users to achieve intelligent scheduling of network resources. In addition, exploratory testing was conducted on some distributed network functions. This test also provides important references for the future research and application of potential key technologies and network architectures in 6G communication.
Ericsson actively participated in the writing of multiple IMT-2030 research reports. And they include “6G Wireless System Architecture and Functions” and “Research on 6G Distributed Autonomous Network Architecture and Key Technologies”.
In the future, Ericsson will continue to actively participate in the IMT-2030 (6G) promotion group, conduct in-depth research and screening of 6G scenarios and requirements, focus on the application and research of key 6G technologies with practical application value, uphold the development concept of openness, cooperation, and win-win, and work with the industry to promote the formulation of a globally unified 6G standard, create a favorable environment for the development of the global mobile communication industry, and prepare for the arrival of 6G.
