Alibaba Cloud Thailand’s Second Data Center Launched, Accelerating Overseas Market Layout

Alibaba Cloud today announced the official opening of the second data center in Thailand, which will provide more powerful cloud computing resources for Thai local enterprises, Chinese offshore companies and local developers to meet the growing needs of Thailand’s emerging businesses such as the Internet and financial technology.
“The Thai cloud computing market is in a stage of rapid expansion, and local enterprises have a strong demand for digitalization and AI, “said Yuan Haojun, Vice President of Alibaba Cloud International and General Manager of Thailand.” We will continue to increase our technology investment and local service capacity building in the Thai market to help local customers seize the opportunities of the AI era.”

Alibaba Cloud entered the Thai market in 2019 and established a local service team there. Nowadays, Alibaba Cloud provides extensive services to industries such as retail, logistics, digital entertainment, finance, and government in Thailand, offering computing, storage, networking, database, and AI products.
In recent years, Alibaba Cloud has grown rapidly in overseas markets, with the market size increasing by more than 20 times in five years. With the expansion of the market size, Alibaba Cloud announced in May last year that it would increase its overseas cloud infrastructure construction and invest in building new data centers in five countries around the world, located in Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Mexico.
At present, Alibaba Cloud operates 86 availability zones in 28 regions worldwide, serving over millions of customers overseas, including well-known enterprises such as the International Olympic Committee, Olympic Broadcasting Services, LVMH Group, Bayer China, InterContinental Hotels Group, PrestoMall, Malaysia’s largest electronics retailer Senheng, and Astra Financial, Indonesia’s financial group.
