Nokia Selected by CoreSite as Routing-Based Network Edge Solution
Nokia announced that it has been selected by CoreSite, a US telecommunications company that supports critical business and artificial intelligence workloads that impact daily life through interconnected data center solutions, providing IP routing based edge and core network solutions for 30 data centers in 11 markets across the United States. The Nokia product portfolio will provide scale, performance, and efficiency to meet the growing cloud connectivity and interconnection needs of CoreSite’s nearly 40000 customers for resource intensive artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing workloads.
As CoreSite enterprise, cloud providers, and network operator customers increase their data intensive services, data center infrastructure must provide high-performance and scalable networks to ensure service availability meets strict industry standards. Meanwhile, a data center space with advanced cooling and ultra-high density power supply is a necessary condition to support growth efficiency.

Chris Malayater, Vice President of Network and Interconnection at CoreSite, stated, “Our customers expect top-notch performance and reliability at every level of the network. By deploying Nokia’s advanced IP routing portfolio in our data center campus, we ensure that our network edge infrastructure is ahead of market demand, providing customers with a seamless experience and faster access to mission critical applications. ”
The Nokia 7250 Interconnect Router (IXR-s) will provide advanced routing capabilities, carrier grade reliability, and high-capacity throughput, enabling enterprises to utilize CoreSite’s hosting center for data storage and processing, new product and service development, and other business operations. The Nokia 7750 Business Router (SR) provides large-scale, high-performance, and reliable IP interconnection for data center campuses. In addition, the Nokia FP5 chip supports high throughput and reliability of uninterrupted data flow, and expands traffic with zero performance degradation.
The seamless integration of Nokia Business Router Operating System (SR OS) with CoreSite’s existing environment will accelerate deployment time and significantly reduce operational costs.
Vach Kompella, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Nokia IP Networks, stated, “Our collaboration with CoreSite enables us to enhance the performance and scale of its multi cloud connectivity and routing cores. The integration of the Nokia 7250 IXR-5 and 7750 Business Router enables CoreSite to proficiently manage growing traffic demands while ensuring low latency and reliable interconnect services that are crucial to the modern digital economy.”
