Elisa, Ericsson and MediaTek Create Record Breaking 8Gbps Download Speed in 5G
Finnish communication service provider Elisa has partnered with Ericsson and MediaTek to achieve download speeds of up to 8Gbps in the real-time 5G standalone (5G SA) network in Kirkkonummi Jorvas, Finland, setting a new benchmark in the European telecommunications industry. This is the highest download speed record in Europe so far. The record breaking speed is achieved by aggregating an impressive 12 components.

Features and advantages
Elisa is at the forefront of providing high-quality mobile broadband and subscription services on 5G independent networks. This operator component aggregation test, characterized by record breaking speed, is a crucial step in providing these advanced services widely across the country and different customer groups.
Its purpose is to enhance the user experience by providing faster downloads, seamless video streaming for smartphone users, lightning fast mobile Internet for homes and offices, and new industrial use cases using network slicing. Network slicing is a technique that preserves a portion of the network and provides tailored services for different applications and users.
