Omdia Report: Nokia Ranks First in Product Portfolio Competitiveness

Nokia announced that its core network portfolio ranks first in competitiveness in Omdia’s “Market Landscape: Core Suppliers -2025” report.

The report ranks Nokia as a comprehensive leader among the 11 mainstream core network providers, with the highest scores in five indicators: cloud native readiness, automation, core-as-a-service, number of 5G independent core network contracts signed with operators, and breadth of core product portfolio.

Roberto Kompany, Chief Analyst of Mobile Infrastructure at Omdia, stated, “Nokia has demonstrated outstanding capabilities in its core network product portfolio, particularly in key areas necessary for future operator success. Nokia’s leading position in cloud native readiness, automation, and core-as-a-service, as well as winning the most 5G independent core network contracts, fully demonstrates its profound insight into the industry’s direction. ”

Nokia continues to accelerate its core network business, with recently announced clients including Qatar’s Ooredoo and Spain’s Telefónica. As of now, Nokia’s 5G independent core network has won 125 operator customers worldwide, of which 54 have been officially commercialized in the second quarter of 2025.

Raghav Sahgal, President of Nokia Cloud and Network Services, said, “Omdia’s industry recognition confirms the effectiveness of our multi cloud strategy and continuous innovation in the core network. Customers are rapidly turning to Nokia, especially in areas such as packet core, IMS voice, and user data management; As we continue to expand our capabilities in security, automation, and AI, it is expected that growth will further accelerate. ”

The Nokia Core Network product portfolio is fully cloud native, allowing operators to run complete 2/3/4/5G and IMS cores on the same cloud native network functionality. The plan covers: cloud grouping core, user data management, voice core, analysis, billing, strategy, signaling and network openness, cloud infrastructure and its management orchestration, as well as related services and operation support.

With the help of Nokia’s core network, operators can quickly, securely, and without restrictions launch new services in a multi cloud, highly automated environment; At the same time, the entire core can be uniformly deployed on the same cloud platform, avoiding the cost and complexity brought by fragmented cloud stacks.
