Accenture Completes Acquisition of Network Services Company Fiber
Accenture has completed the acquisition of Italian fiber optic and mobile network expert Fiber, six weeks after announcing that it will take action to strengthen its telecommunications engineering services capabilities.
This multinational professional services company explained that this acquisition will enhance its professional knowledge and capabilities, providing customers with technologies including automation, robotics, data, and artificial intelligence.
Accenture stated that Fiber has over 20 years of experience working with both public and private sector clients, and reiterated that it will have 400 employees joining its operations department, bringing their knowledge in network design, licensing procedures, and local market capabilities.
This acquisition further expands Accenture’s infrastructure engineering scale and capabilities in 5G and fiber optics in Europe, “it said.
It also added that Fiber’s capabilities will help it provide high-quality services and “greater innovation” to customers in various industries, as well as “stricter cost management”.
The executives of both companies have previously expressed enthusiasm for this move. Roberto Pagella, the head of Accenture’s Italian business, stated that this will enable the company to provide a ‘center of excellence’ for network engineering, utilizing technology to ‘enhance human skills and knowledge’.
