Corning Leverages PRIZM ® TMT Expands AI Data Center Connectivity Product Portfolio

Corning, New York, March 11, 2026- Corning Inc. (NYSE: GLW) announced today its partnership with US Conec to become PRIZM ® The authorized party of TMT optical plug-in technology, this solution can accommodate more optical fibers in a more compact space inside the data center. PRIZM ® The addition of TMT technology expands Corning’s full range of high-density optical connectivity solutions for next-generation AI networks.

Mike O’Day, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Corning Optical Communications, stated that “AI infrastructure is pushing optical connectivity towards new and more demanding environments. By obtaining PRIZM ® Through TMT technology licensing, Corning will enhance its ability to provide scalable, high fiber capacity solutions, helping customers build larger, faster, and more efficient AI clusters while closely integrating with a broader industry ecosystem. ”
With the continuous expansion of AI infrastructure with new generation AI chips and larger scale clusters, data center customers need to connect more and more accelerators in the scale out part of the network. In addition, traditional short-range copper cable links in the scale up part of the network will be increasingly replaced by optical links, which will increase the number of optical connections per server rack and switch rack to thousands of fibers.
This transformation significantly increases the fiber density inside the server rack, making connector density, performance, and installation speed more important. PRIZM ® TMT plugs address these challenges through precisely aligned microlenses rather than direct fiber optic contact. Extended beam PRIZM ® TMT plug-in technology can achieve faster and more reliable installation, stronger anti pollution capabilities, and reduce total cost of ownership – these are key advantages in high demand vertical and horizontal expansion AI data center deployments.
Corning will highlight PRIZM at the 2026 Fiber Optic Communications Conference and Exhibition (OFC) ® TMT Technology, the exhibition will be held in Los Angeles, California from March 17th to 19th. Attendees can learn how this technology supports emerging data center connectivity strategies at Corning booth (# 1739).
