Dell’Oro: Huawei Continues to Rise in RAN Markets outside of China

According to the latest report from Dell’Oro Group, preliminary research results show that the market situation has continued to stabilize this quarter. After two years of sharp decline, preliminary estimates indicate that in the second quarter of 2025, the total revenue of RAN, including baseband, wireless hardware, and software (excluding services), will achieve growth for the third consecutive quarter in markets outside of China.

Stefan Pongratz, Vice President of RAN Market Research at Dell’Oro Group, said, “Our preliminary assessment confirms that the market narrative we have discussed for some time is becoming a reality. The market situation remains stable and has achieved three consecutive quarters of growth outside of China. However, overall market sentiment remains sluggish and a rapid rebound is not in expectation. The industry generally recognizes that short-term fluctuations are unlikely to change the overall flat long-term trajectory of the market.”

Other key points of the RAN report for the second quarter of 2025 include:

-The growth in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa almost completely offset the decline in the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Asia Pacific region.

-The dynamic of RAN suppliers is gradually changing, driven by three major trends: the strong are getting stronger, the laggards are not improving, and the market is becoming increasingly segmented.

-Ericsson and Huawei respectively held over 60% of the market share in North America and China in the first half of the year.

-According to global revenue statistics for the past four quarters, the top five RAN suppliers are Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia, ZTE, and Samsung.

-The short-term outlook remains unchanged, and it is expected that the overall RAN market will stabilize by 2025.
