Ericsson Collaborates with Partners to Develop AI in Sweden
Ericsson’s expertise in artificial intelligence will play a central role in a new AI factory focused on Sweden, where a consortium of powerful Swedish companies will leverage NVIDIA’s computing power to help drive national digitization.
Partners of the Swedish consortium – Ericsson AstraZeneca, Saab, SEB, and Wallenberg Investments AB will build the system, which will be operated by a joint venture to provide secure and independent computing access for industry partners.
The alliance aims to promote new artificial intelligence innovation in Sweden through knowledge sharing and enhancing artificial intelligence capabilities within the industry.

The first phase of the planned deployment will be two NVIDIA DGX SuperPODs using NVIDIA’s latest generation Grace Blackwell GB300 system. Once put into operation, it will become Sweden’s largest enterprise artificial intelligence supercomputer.
It aims to run computationally intensive artificial intelligence workloads to accelerate the training of domain specific artificial intelligence models and large-scale inference processes (including inferential artificial intelligence).
In order to support the goals of the Swedish Alliance and Nvidia, Nvidia plans to establish the first artificial intelligence technology center in Sweden and work with industry partners to promote artificial intelligence research.
On May 24th, Huang Renxun, founder and CEO of Nvidia, and Marcus Wallenberg, chairman of Wallenberg Investments, attended an event held in southern Sweden.
Ericsson’s Chief Technology Officer Erik Ekudden welcomes this initiative, stating that “artificial intelligence plays a crucial role in the development of high-performance programmable and autonomous networks. Artificial intelligence and 5G are also crucial for the future competitiveness of Sweden and other countries by driving innovation, supporting startups, and providing new use cases and functionalities. As a company that has already invested heavily in artificial intelligence research and development, Ericsson looks forward to collaborating with other leading Swedish companies and NVIDIA to ensure that Sweden is at the forefront of AI development and benefits. ”
Huang Renxun, the founder and CEO of Nvidia, said: “Just as electricity has promoted the industrial era, the Internet has promoted the digital era, and AI is the engine of the next industrial revolution. Through the visionary initiatives of Wallenberg Investments and Swedish industry leaders, the country is building its first AI infrastructure, laying the foundation for breakthroughs in science, industry and society, and ensuring Sweden’s cutting-edge position in the AI era. ”
Marcus Wallenberg, Chairman of Wallenberg Investments, said, “Investing in cutting-edge artificial intelligence infrastructure is a crucial step in accelerating the development and adoption of artificial intelligence in Swedish industry. We believe that this initiative will generate valuable spillover effects by improving skills, promoting new collaborations, and strengthening the broader national AI ecosystem.”
