Ericsson Showcases 6G Innovation at PIMRC 2025
Ericsson will participate in the IEEE International Seminar on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Wireless Communications (PIMRC 2025) held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from September 1 to 4, 2025. At that time, Ericsson will display 6G innovation achievements and their contributions to international standards, which are jointly developed by the local R&D team in Türkiye and Ericsson’s global research leaders.
At IEEE PIMRC 2025, Ericsson will present a series of cutting-edge solutions and latest developments in the field of 6G research, covering artificial intelligence applications in wireless access networks (RAN). The booth will show how these innovations shape the future network, support Türkiye’s digital transformation, and promote a sustainable connected future through interactive demonstrations.
Ericsson experts will attend the conference, communicate with industry partners and customers, and promote Türkiye’s evolving technological ecological innovation. Magnus Frodigh, Vice President and Head of Research at Ericsson, will deliver a keynote speech on the topic of “Research Status, Standardization, and Research Needs for 6G Advanced” before his participation in the group discussion; Zoran Lazarevic, Chief Technology Officer of Ericsson Middle East and Africa, will give a speech titled “High Performance Open Programmable Networks”.
Mehmet Ogul, general manager of Ericsson Türkiye, said: “IEEE PIMRC 2025 provides us with a wonderful platform to show the latest innovation, communicate with partners and customers, and also let the industry see the potential of our technology. We focus on 6G research and AI driven innovation, which reflects Ericsson’s commitment to promoting digital transformation and industry growth in Türkiye. Relying on our local R&D capabilities, we are proud to participate in this important dialogue and work with partners to create a more intelligent Internet, empower Türkiye’s society and support sustainable development. ”
This activity will demonstrate Ericsson’s strength in industry and research, highlight the contributions of researchers in Türkiye, present its global vision, and promote best practices in combination with the actual needs of Türkiye.
Magnus Frodigh, Vice President and Head of Research at Ericsson, stated that the first commercial 6G solutions are expected to be launched in 2030, and Ericsson has advanced standardization efforts and prepared future products to ensure smooth deployment based on the advantages of 5G. The industry must reach a consensus on the common vision of 6G as soon as possible, and only introduce new capabilities when they can bring tangible and measurable benefits. Ericsson’s ongoing research and industry collaboration will continuously optimize technology, drive performance improvements, and ensure seamless integration into future 6G infrastructure. ”
Ericsson has always been committed to integrating locally developed technologies into the global ecosystem, and consolidating Türkiye’s position in the rapidly evolving ICT field.
