Huawei and Beijing Jiaotong University Completed Vehicle Ground Communication Test
On April 27, it was reported that recently, the “National Engineering Research Center of Rail Transit Operation Control System” of Beijing Jiaotong University released the Test Report of Huawei WLAN System High Speed Scene Laboratory. According to the Report, Huawei and the Rail Transit Engineering Center of Beijing Jiaotong University jointly completed the urban rail business carrying capacity test of the ground Wi Fi 6 communication system in the 350km/h high-speed mobile scenario. The test results show that the bandwidth of the train reaches 980Mbps at 350km/h, close to 1Gbps (1000 Mbps).
The report shows that to verify the availability of Huawei’s urban rail vehicle ground Wi Fi 6 network in high-speed mobile scenarios, the Beijing Jiaotong University Rail Transit Engineering Center adopts a product combination of Huawei AirEngine X760R-XXE trackside AP and AirEngine 6760-51EI on-board AP at speeds of 120km/h, 160km/h, 200km/h, 260km/h, and 350km/h, Tested the carrying capacity of Huawei’s urban rail vehicle ground Wi Fi 6 network for train passenger information system (PIS) and video services.
In the “14th Five Year Plan for the Development of Modern Comprehensive Transportation System”, the country clearly requires “to strengthen the construction of intercity transportation in key urban agglomerations, promote the integration and connection of intercity railways, urban rail transit, and other areas, and reasonably promote the cross line operation of rail transit”. With the support of industrial demand and policies, rail transit has been able to develop at a high speed, with a maximum operating speed of 160km/h and a maximum design speed of 200km/h in China; At the same time, rail transit is gradually entering the era of fully automated operation. The high-speed movement and fully automatic operation of rail transit, as well as the real-time transmission of business data such as train passenger information system (PIS), onboard video, and pantograph network detection system, pose new challenges and requirements for the train ground wireless communication system.
Huawei claims that its launched Huawei Smart City Rail Car to Ground Wi Fi 6 network solution provides “high performance, fast switching, and easy deployment” car to ground Wi Fi 6 communication for high-speed trains through various technological innovations such as hardware and algorithms.
