Huawei Collaborates with Turkcell to Break 50Gbps and Rewrite 5G Transmission Record

Turkcell is a leading technology company in Turkey. It has achieved a significant technological breakthrough through cooperation with Huawei. And this completes the world’s first on-site test of a Full Duplex Radio Link in Istanbul. Also, it achieves a transmission rate of 50Gbps on a single link. This innovative technology enables wireless communication to send and receive data at the same time in the same frequency band. It marks a key step in Türkiye’s digital process.

Significance

Professor Vehbi Çağrı Güngör is Chief Technology Officer of Turkcell. He stated that the achieved speed level can support approximately 10000 users simultaneously using voice and data services on 5G networks. This test truly reflects our goal of preparing for the country’s digital infrastructure. The test was completed on the E-band (80GHz) spectrum. This is an important milestone in the evolution of 5G infrastructure.

With the increasing demand for video streaming, augmented reality (AR), and low latency applications, the demand for high-capacity and high-speed communication infrastructure continues to rise. The full duplex radio link solution jointly developed by Turkcell and Huawei achieves a single link transmission capacity of 50Gbps through a highly isolated integrated antenna structure, advanced spectrum efficiency, and anti-interference algorithms.
