Nokia and Dell Cooperate on Private 5G Networks

Dell Technologies and Nokia announced today the expansion of their strategic partnership to collaborate on deploying private 5G networks and adapting them to cloud technology.
As part of the agreement, Nokia will adopt Dell as its preferred infrastructure partner for existing Nokia AirFrame customers, and use Dell’s technology as the preferred infrastructure for telecom cloud deployment.

Nokia and Dell will help existing AirFrame customers transition to Dell’s extensive infrastructure portfolio, including Dell Edge servers. The Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (NDAC) private wireless solution will become Dell’s preferred private wireless platform for enterprise customers.
Based on existing research and development work around core network functions, the two companies will collaborate on platform and application testing as well as lifecycle management in Dell’s Open Telecommunications Ecosystem Laboratory. Dell and Nokia plan to certify workloads on Dell Telecom infrastructure modules that support Nokia cloud products, while continuing to collaborate on OEM projects.
