Nokia and Du Collaborate to Deploy 400G Optical Network
Nokia announced that it has established the most advanced 400G national backbone optical network for Du from the United Arab Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Corporation (EITC). This network spans the entire country, extending from the western border to the east. With the support of Nokia’s hypercoherent optical technology, the new optical network will enable Du to meet growing capacity demands while providing its customers with an enhanced network experience.
Du’s new backbone optical network will utilize Nokia’s fifth generation supercoherent photon service engines (PSE-Vs) and CDC-F ROADM technology to ensure effective transmission of 400G wavelengths throughout the United Arab Emirates. The General Multi Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) feature of the new network will significantly enhance service level protocols by enabling automatic rerouting of optional paths. This innovative network will also enable Network as a Service (NaaS) functionality to monetize wholesale services.
