Nokia and TNN Denmark Collaborate to Deploy AI Driven 5G

Nokia announced a four-year contract extension with TNN Denmark to continue as the sole provider of 5G wireless access networks and management services. According to the new agreement, Nokia will utilize AI and autonomous capabilities to develop TTN’s 5G network. It provides higher service quality, higher speed and capacity, and excellent user experience, offering new digital services and advanced business applications to TNN customers. TNN is the largest shared mobile network in Denmark, a joint venture between Norlys and Telenor. The project is currently underway.

Norlys Telecom Senior Vice President Daniel Askeroth said, “We are focused on providing the best network for customers across Denmark. That’s why we continue to invest in top-notch mobile network infrastructure to enhance network performance and customer experience. Partnering with Nokia will provide us with an AI driven autonomous 5G network. Also, it allows us to provide our customers with the highest quality service and embrace the opportunities brought by 5G and future technologies.”

Nokia will deploy devices from its industry-leading and energy-efficient AirScale wireless access network (RAN) product portfolio to support TNN in providing high-quality 5G services to over 3 million users in Denmark. Nokia will provide the latest generation Habrok Massive MIMO radio and Pandion Multi Band Remote Radio Head (RRH) to achieve comprehensive coverage in multiple deployment scenarios. Nokia will also offer its high-performance AirScale baseband solutions that support AI – Ponente, Lodos, and Levante – providing enhanced scalability and energy efficiency while supporting traffic growth. These solutions utilize Nokia’s energy-efficient ReefShark System on Chip (SoC) technology to achieve the highest performance, efficiency, and reliability.

Louise Haurum, Chief Technology Officer of Telenor Denmark, said: “Extending our 5G partnership with Nokia marks an important step forward in providing seamless, high-performance connectivity to our customers. This collaboration enables us to accelerate innovation, enhance network resilience, and bring transformative digital experiences to Danish households and businesses.”

TNN will also benefit from Nokia’s artificial intelligence and automation capabilities in network management and optimization. This includes Nokia’s market leading self-organizing network (SON) solution MantaRay SON, as well as MantaRay AutoPilot, which is an intent based artificial intelligence solution. And it can self optimize SON modules to achieve real-time optimization, improve performance, and reduce operating costs. With advanced artificial intelligence and automation solutions, Nokia Management Services helps simplify 5G network operations, reduce costs. Also it improves operational efficiency, thereby enhancing service quality and customer experience.

Mark Atkinson, Head of Wireless Access Networks at Nokia, said: “His strengthened agreement with TNN reflects our strong partnership and Nokia’s position as a trusted technology provider, offering industry-leading 5G solutions and advanced artificial intelligence and automation capabilities to improve operational efficiency and network quality. We are helping TNN expand the coverage and capacity of 5G. It provides its customers with a first-class connectivity experience and new digital services.”
