Nokia Bell Labs and e& Announced Research and Cooperation

The Cooperation

Nokia Bell Labs and global technology group e&have announced the signing of a one-year, non binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for research and development cooperation. And it’s aimed at creating AI based use cases for strategic industrial sectors.

The goal is to develop responsible artificial intelligence solutions for sustainable enterprises and industrial automation applications. Also, it can accelerate the deployment of innovative concepts to the real world.

This memorandum of understanding includes exploring opportunities for collaboration with industry, universities, and research centers. The goal of these two organizations is to develop innovative solutions in the fields of artificial intelligence and information and communication technology to adapt to the overall vision of industrial automation and digitization. Network connectivity, artificial intelligence, and advanced computing are the foundation for addressing the daunting industrial challenges faced by many sectors today, such as productivity, efficiency, safety, health, and sustainability.

E&has become a pioneer in artificial intelligence and generative artificial intelligence in the United Arab Emirates and its 33 operating markets. What’s more, it has announced a commitment to achieving net zero emissions in the UAE domestic market by 2030 and in all businesses by 2040.

Nokia Bell Labs is an industry leader in responsible artificial intelligence and has defined six principles to guide future AI research, including fairness, reliability, privacy, transparency, sustainability, and accountability. These principles not only reflect the future of artificial intelligence standards, but also comprehensively consider the telecommunications industry’s renewed focus on environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and good governance.
