Nokia Established Fixed Network Laboratory in India
Nokia announced the expansion of its fixed network research and development facilities in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. With the support of the Tamil Nadu government, the new research and development laboratory will become one of Nokia’s largest research and development laboratories globally, as well as one of the largest research and development laboratories for its fixed network business. This expansion reinforces Nokia’s commitment to developing cutting-edge technologies that help connect unconnected users and narrow the digital divide.
The Significance
As a key hub for fixed networks, this investment will further strengthen Nokia’s technological innovation in 10G, 25G, 50G, and 100G PON, fixed wireless access, Wi Fi, and MDU solutions, as well as access networks and home controllers.
The Tamil Nadu government has been key in promoting this expansion and will provide necessary infrastructure, regulation, and policy support for Nokia in accordance with current policies. The Process
In order to officially confirm the expansion of Nokia’s research and development laboratory in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Nokia recently exchanged a memorandum of understanding in attendance in Tiru.
