Nokia Provides Complete Core Network, Security, and Hosting Services to Norlys
Nokia announced that it has been selected by Norlys, the owner of Telia Denmark, the largest integrated energy and telecommunications operator in Denmark, to provide its mobile core network and management services. This agreement, combined with the RAN contract signed with Nokia in 2021, will enhance Norlys’ mobile network performance and reliability.
The latest transaction reflects Nokia’s commitment to driving innovation and supporting the digital transformation of its customers and partners, enabling Norlys to provide comprehensive service solutions for its customers and open up new growth opportunities in Denmark.
The agreement includes the deployment of Nokia’s 4G/5G packet core, as well as IMS and SDM solutions, which will provide voice and data services for Norlys users.
The core network applications will run on Red Hat OpenShift, an industry-leading hybrid cloud application platform supported by Kubernetes. Red Hat OpenShift is integrated into Nokia Cloud Platform, providing cloud native and scalable infrastructure.
Nokia will protect the operator’s network through its NetGuard carrier grade endpoint detection and response, privileged access management, and certificate management solutions.
Nokia will also provide a comprehensive service package, including management security, performance, and assurance services; Its 7220 IXR platform runs the SR Linux Network Operating System (NOS) for network connectivity within data centers.
The Nokia MantaRay NM will be used for seamless network management and automation operations, as well as network optimization and technical support services.
Daniel Askeroth, Chief Technology Officer of Telia Denmark, said, “We have a clear goal to provide the best network for Danes, and we are constantly striving to improve network performance and customer experience. Collaborating with Nokia to develop our core network and management services will provide us with high-quality and future oriented core solutions, enabling us to provide the best service to our customers and seize the opportunities of 5G and the future.
We are pleased to be the sole provider of Norlys’ core network and management services, “said Raghav Sahgal, President of Nokia Cloud Network Services.” This demonstrates Nokia’s strong partnership and the quality of our solutions and services. We look forward to supporting Norlys in achieving its goals of providing excellent customer experience, network efficiency, and market differentiation.
