SENKO and US Conec reach settlement on patent lawsuit over VSFF connectors and adapters
Yesterday, Senko Advanced Components, Inc. and US Conec Ltd. in Hudson, Massachusetts reached a settlement in a patent infringement lawsuit regarding ultra small fiber optic connectors and adapters (“VSFF products”). All pending lawsuits regarding this topic have been dismissed, and the administrative objections of the United States Patent and Trademark Office to the patents of all parties have also been dismissed. Therefore, both parties have retained their current patent portfolios, which cover the controversial VSFF products in these cases.
According to the terms of the agreement, both parties and their licensees, distributors, and customers may continue to provide existing VSFF products. As part of the settlement agreement, Senko will be able to provide MMC connectors and adapter products, while US Conec will be able to provide SN connectors and adapter products. Both parties have also resolved patent disputes related to MPO products, allowing both parties and their licensees, distributors, and customers to continue providing their respective MPO products. The other terms of the agreement between both parties remain confidential.
