Collaboration

Driven by Xtreme Enterprises, Ericsson announced an agreement with Sound Broadband, a subsidiary of LICT, to transform broadband access in rural areas of the United States. And the goal of this program is to bring ultra high speed 5G NR fixed wireless access solutions (FWA) to underserved communities in multiple states in areas funded by the Enhanced Alternative Connectivity America Cost Model (ACAM) and future opportunities for Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD).

Remarks

Eric Boudriau, Vice President and Regional Customer and HCP Head of Ericsson North America, said, “Ericsson has long envisioned providing ultra high speed broadband to all segments of the US market. Through strategic partnerships with our trusted partners Sound Broadband and Xtreme Enterprises, we can now achieve this goal. Their deep market expertise and agile approach enable us to extend our carrier grade wireless solutions to providers. They serve the underserved and underserved broadband markets.”

Dylan Larmore, President of Sound Broadband, said, “This collaboration marks a significant leap in our mission to bring next-generation network connectivity to the communities that need it the most. With Ericsson’s technology, we can not only meet but also exceed the broadband requirements of E-ACAM and BEAD. Also, it ensures that rural areas in the United States enjoy the same quality of service as urban centers. This is not just an infrastructure project. More importantly, it is a commitment to equal opportunities for all.”

Wayne Baxter, Acting President of Western New Mexico Telephone, added, “Ericsson’s 5G NR solution is changing the future of rural connectivity. The mobility and seamless user experience brought by Ericsson technology will redefine the possibilities of rural broadband. And it paves the way for new possibilities in education, business, and daily life.”

“We are pleased to support this project,” said David Tews, CEO of Xtreme Enterprises. “The E-ACAM and BEAD projects require guaranteed minimum up and down speeds to be provided to all funding locations. We have conducted comprehensive testing on Ericsson Extreme 5G fixed wireless access solutions. It ensures that we can meet these high standards for our customers.”
