Spectrum Provides Broadband Services in More RDOF Regions
Chart’s Spectrum announced new construction and services in multiple areas of Missouri. In terms of construction, Spectrum has started providing broadband services to 400 locations in Pettis County, Missouri, as well as 400 households and businesses in Lafayette County, Missouri. The company has also launched broadband services in 1000 locations in Clinton County, Missouri; 1500 branches in St. Charles County, Missouri; 1250 people from San Genevieve County, Missouri; Warren County, Missouri has over 1700 people. All construction in Missouri is part of the spectrum company’s commitment through the Federal Communications Commission’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF), which has resulted in the company receiving $1.2 billion in funding to cover approximately 1 million customer locations in 24 states.
Leaving Missouri but adhering to RDOF, Spectrum provides services to over 1950 households and small businesses in Barnwell County, South Carolina, as well as 190 households and businesses in Calhoun County, South Carolina, and 750 locations in Villas County, Wisconsin. Spectrum has also launched services in California. Specifically, the company provides services to 400 households and small businesses in parts of San Aldo, South Montreuil County and Monterey County, North. The funding for this project was obtained through California’s share of the US rescue program funding. It is worth noting that in addition to the series of RDOF construction and service announcements released this week, Charter also told the FCC that due to “unforeseeable costs,” it will be delayed in deploying to thousands of locations obtained in Michigan, Missouri, and Wisconsin. According to Broadband Breakfast, Charter will conduct surveys in 133 census blocks, accounting for 2.4% of its RDOF locations, or an estimated 25200 locations.
