UScellular Announces Accelerated Expansion of 5G Networks

This week, UScelluar announced that it has obtained full access to the 5G C-band spectrum obtained from the 107 auction in March 2021, allowing the company to expand its 5G network faster than expected.
Earlier this year, USCellular upgraded over 440 cellular sites to prepare for this spectrum access. The company will launch this enhanced 5G service in the coming weeks, three months ahead of schedule. C-band spectrum technology brings customers faster data transmission speed and larger capacity, improving network performance.

Mike Irizarry, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of USCellular, said, “This early access to the C-band spectrum enables us to accelerate our plans and bring superior network experiences to more mobile and home internet customers earlier than expected. As we advance our mission of connecting people to the most important things, additional spectrum access is crucial
Earlier this year, UScelluar launched 5G intermediate frequency networks in 10 states.
UScelluar is the fourth largest full service wireless operator in the United States (the top three are Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile). This Chicago based operator provides a powerful and reliable network supported by the latest technology, as well as a wide range of communication services, which can improve consumers’ lives, enhance the competitiveness of local enterprises, and improve government operational efficiency.
